Draft, not yet reviewed. This page describes what Paneo does today, in plain language. It still needs a legal review before launch, including the contact address, the legal entity's details and the email provider, which are marked as to be confirmed.
The short version
- We store what Paneo needs to work: your account, your boards and the screens you link. Nothing else.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking cookies, and we don't sell or share your data.
- Delete your account and everything in it goes with it.
Who we are
Paneo is a product of Thoughtminers, which is responsible for your data. Contact: (contact address to be confirmed).
What we store
Your account
- Your email address and name, to sign you in and to know what to call you. If you sign in with Google, we also get your Google profile picture and the details Google needs to keep the sign-in linked.
- Your plan (Free for now).
Your boards
- Each board's name, layout and tiles, and each tile's settings: for example the calendar links you add, the place a weather tile shows, or the photo collection in the background.
- Calendar links can be private addresses. Treat them like passwords: anyone with the link can read the calendar. We only use them to show the calendar on your boards.
Your screens
- Each linked screen's name, which board it shows, the browser it last reported (its User-Agent) and when it last checked in. That's how the Screens page shows whether a screen is online, and how lite mode spots slow devices.
- Each screen has its own key. We only keep a fingerprint of it (a hash), so a copy of our database can't be used to open your boards.
Short-lived data
- Sign-in sessions, kept in our cache while you're signed in, and the single-use sign-in links we email you, which expire after 10 minutes.
- Screen link codes, which expire after 10 minutes, and the network addresses (IP addresses) that try wrong codes, kept briefly to stop guessing.
Cookies
One cookie, set by the app when you sign in, keeps you signed in. A linked screen keeps its own key in its browser. This site sets no cookies.
Who else sees what
- Google Cloud runs our servers, database and cache.
- Cloudflare sits in front of the site and the app, and handles the network traffic.
- Our email provider (to be confirmed) sends your sign-in links, so it sees your email address.
- Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Weather and calendars: our servers fetch your calendar links and the forecast for the place your weather tile shows (from MET Norway). Those services see our servers, not you.
- Photos: background photos (from Unsplash, or a link you add) are loaded by the screen itself, so that service sees the screen's network address, like any website it opens.
We don't sell your data or share it with anyone else, except when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
As long as you have an account. When you delete a board or unlink a screen, it's gone. When you delete your account, your boards, tiles and screens are deleted with it, and every screen showing them stops.
Your rights
You can see and change your boards and screens in the app at any time. To get a copy of your data, correct it or delete your account, write to us at the address above. If you're in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
If we change how we use your data, we'll update this page and, for anything significant, email you first.
